KANAL24, Trenggalek – The Islamic New Year or Hijr New Year is one of the celebrations usually celebrated in Indonesia and almost 80% of the population holds this event. To celebrate the Islamic New Year, SD Negeri 1 Dongko held an event consisting of a headmaster speech and preaching. Through MMD, we participate in and enliven the event through games planned by us.
The game is a “marching message” and the purpose of this game is to guess and convey the message from the recipient of the message and the last person who got the message will answer it. In addition to enlivening the Islamic New Year event at SD Negeri 1 Dongko, this game aims to encourage student activity in groups, sharpen students’ memory, and cohesiveness between students in solving problems. The uniqueness of this game is the traditional nuance that encourages students to do activities simultaneously. Students are very enthusiastic about trying to guess words and problems related to knowledge.
The advantage of this activity when associated with MMD activities is to provide new knowledge to students. The goal is to encourage students to be active in various activities involved. Moreover, this activity benefits both parties where students provide improvements in the quality of education both in educational literacy and digitalization of learning resources. Teachers gain new insights and knowledge from activities that literate students at school. The principal and teachers at SD Negeri 1 Dongko gladly welcome UB students who carry out the MMD program and approve any activities related to improving the quality of education while at school.
MMD activities also have a vision and mission, one of which is achieving the goals of SDG’s as a manifestation from all over the world to improve quality and quantity in various countries. The relationship between this Islamic New Year activity and the achievement of SDG’s is the improvement of educational literacy as stated in the 4th SDG’s goal entitled “quality education”. The targets and objectives of the fourth SDG are to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. We need to know that there are still many ranks of education that are still lagging behind both in terms of knowledge and terms of technological sophistication and equitable distribution of the education system, especially in underdeveloped areas.
Increasing educational literacy and digitizing learning resources is very important to note and apply because in this era technological sophistication has applied and various sources of information can be found through the internet. MMD activities have their advantages from this theme, one of which is increasing students’ enthusiasm for receiving new knowledge. Through the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of students, it can be known that educational literacy is very necessary and form an interaction group. Digitization of applied learning resources such as the development of teaching materials used in schools. Students develop these teaching materials in the form of digitization which can make the learning atmosphere more interesting and the knowledge presented is easier to understand. The uniqueness is that students can add new insights and knowledge about digitizing learning resources that can be applied to new learners later.(sdk)
